Unexpectedly got to see a good bit tonight. Liked Kamala and Pete going in. Like them more after.

I don’t think Biden did as badly as some others believe. And I think he can win. But I want someone fresh.

I wish Bernie would go away. But he won’t.

And Williamson looked like she wandered in and accidentally ended up on stage.

Castro is not ahead of Booker. Hell, Booker had a good night.

Biden with an agreement to step down before Jan. 20, 2023.

Do you want catharsis or victory?

Both. Deliver the message to prospective next-generation Trumps not to try this shit again.

Pretty close to what I came away with. I'd add Booker. And if there was one name there I'd like to expunge, it would be Sanders. I do not think there is any way Bernie Sanders would defeat Trump.

And Biden sure didn't help himself tonight, either.

I'd have no problem with a Booker/Sanders swap but considering where he is in the polls/people's minds, I don't know how you leave him out until he starts dropping down / someone becomes the clear No. 1. There are definitely seven people who should be in the debates. going forward. It gets a little unwieldy past six, I think, if you want substance and not a clusterfuck

That tweet makes very little sense to me.

I'll say this: I think the logic of the debate was to ding Biden and try to strip him of some of his African-American support.

I think the point is that busing, as an issue, is not something that's going to happen today. Harris is inevitably going to be asked whether she supports doing it now, and, well, we'll see what the answer is.

    And that ain’t democratic.
One of the many disturbing things revealed by Trumpism is how easy it is to circumvent the will of the legislature.

    Non-debate content follows.

I have been interested in reparations for black people for some time. I'm not talking about slavery that is ancient history.

My interest is that my generation was the last to be subject to legally sanctioned economic segregation e.g. where we could go to school, where we could work, where we could buy real estate.

Here are my speculative proposals on how to approach this.

    Qualifications/Definitions

Where to draw the line. My suggestion would be to use 1964 the year of the passage of the Civil Rights Act as the cutoff. The criteria would be:

    1. Your birth certificate shows you were born in the USA or Territories in 1964 or prior.

    2. Your birth certificate lists one or both of your parents' race/color as "Negro"

Obviously there are going to be gray areas, children born outside the USA on vacation, etc. There would need to be a bureaucracy to adjudicate this.

    Nature of Reparations

If you meet the above criteria and were born before 1955 you are exempt from paying federal and state income tax for the rest of your life.

If you meet the above criteria and were born in 1955 to 1964 you would be able to halve your federal and state tax obligations for the rest of your life.
