Until Rapinoe finished, it really looked like that play was falling apart.

The announcers saying that it was a deliberate pass to her instead of a failed cross to Mewis was kind of silly.

Hope Solo in 2019 in her age 38 season would not be as good as Hope Solo was in 2011-15. This would probably come as a surprise to 2019’s Hope Solo, among others.

Purchased my London flight and I'll be in the home section at Vicarage Road on Aug. 24 for the West Ham-Watford match. Sports bucket list item crossed off the list. Can't freaking wait.

Home team first, @Cosmo. WATFORD V. WEST HAM. That should be nice and spicy. Hope you love every minute of your time at The Vic.

Let me know if you need any London recs.

At the end of Germany- Netherlands, a German player took at least 10 yards extra, handed it to a teammate who took about 8 yards more before the ref finally waved her back a few steps.

Seemed like Germany was the only team left with a real shot to knock off the U.S. I know weird things happen, but the Americans have to be the hugely prohibitive favorite now.

I think coming into the tournament, Sweden was up there too. Of course the group finale put a damper on that. England could always score an upset (though I doubt it) if the US has to rely on PKs (Spain) or get lax down the stretch (France). It will be interesting if Sweden gets by the Netherlands setting up a rematch.

Also, don't forget to replace your singular verbs with plural verbs every time it comes up in conversation. They'll never know you took a plane to the game.

Wife: What happens to those little banners the teams exchange before matches? Are they hanging at the national team’s offices?

    Me: ... ... ...

    Wife: You don’t know!?!
