2019 MLB Regular Season running thread

That's insane that four Cy Young winners who have combined to win six of the last 16 awards were all on the same pitching staff.
Even crazier that they couldn't get out of the division round.
Has there ever been another pitching staff that had four Cy Young winners on it?

 

198o Orioles has three with Jim Palmer, Steve Stone and Mike Flanagan. Don’t know that any team has had four. I seem to remember them being called Cy Young, Cy Old, Cy Current and I think Scott McGregor was Cy Future.

 

We were continually told that Jim Leyland was an absolute HOF lock as a manager.

The Houston player and the franchise just need to apologize then shut the fuck up and take their punishment like men.

That was horrific.

 

There have been a few that have had three. The mid-80s Dodgers did, with Fernando Valenzuela, Orel Hershiser and Bob Welch. The 1990s Braves, obviously. And, oddly, the 1979 Padres that finished 68-93 (Rollie Fingers, Gaylord Perry and Randy Jones).

I did find another one that had four, if you squint. The 1998 Blue Jays had Pat Hentgen, Roger Clemens and Chris Carpenter in the rotation all season, and then Roy Halladay made two starts in September as a rookie.

 

1972 A’s had Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Fingers and Denny McLain who had five starts for them.

 

Don't forget Mike Cuellar on the Orioles of the late 60s and early 70s.

 

This will be the lowest rated ASG ever - not a bold prediction, just that I didn't realize it came so soon after the 4th and figure the hype has been lost in the soccer, the holiday and Wimbledon.
