I think it’s OK for a church not to lean too hard on politics. Really. I’ve watched churches do that for a long time. It’s a losing proposition.

Nixon did cancel the moon program as soon as it was politically feasible. Other than Skylab missions and the Apollo-Soyuz hookup in 1975, we weren't in space again until the first shuttle in 1981.

However, NAFTA wasn't ratified until Clinton took office with him approving it from the jump during the campaign. (That was virtually Perot's only talking point in 1992.) Obama reversed numerous Bush positions in his presidency, but it wasn't out of spite. This is completely different.

No direct references were made, I'm just wondering how thick you need to be not to be able to associate the parable with the refugee crisis.

    Episcopal?

Same talk here. Our guy spoke about how a Samaritan back at the time of this story was considered less of a person by the population. You could even say a back-in-the-day Mexican or Muslim. He did use the Seinfeld ending as the trio being jailed for not being good Samaritans.

I like my guy. He does not pull punches. We had some KKK nonsense around me recently and he basically called out anyone who was aligned with them or shared their thoughts does not have a place in this church.

I've said the same thing. I think he'll want to be on stage. His RNC handlers will do everything they can to limit/control any debates. We traditionally have three. If there are three in in 2020, I'll be surprised.

Methodist here. We got the same Luke 10:25-37(IIRC) today. He tied it into Sarah and Abraham's hospitality, as part of the beginning of a larger series on Women of the Bible.

It is a nice change to see him put aside the laundry and post something like that.
