I like to believe at this point nearly 100 percent of Democrats are committed to voting on the Not-Trump nominee. At this point I'm hoping for the 2016 reluctant Trump voter to come around to the, "yeah - a few judges isn't worth this."

I believe actual principled conservatives could get mileage out of, "We would really, really like you to come out and vote for Republican Congressmen and a not-Trump Presidential candidate, because split government is better than four more years of him."

I have no idea what is going to happen in 2020. Here are several scenarios, as I see them. On any given day, I'm convinced there is an equal chance of any of them happening.

    1. Trump runs again and wins because the Democrats are Keystone Cops.
    2. Trump runs, wins, and the grand old republic becomes Rome 2.0.
    3. Trump runs, loses, challenges it in court, Sorry SCOTUS rules for him, refer back to No. 2.
    4. Trump runs, loses, challenges it in court, loses that, refuses to leave, a new POTUS is sworn in, refer back to No. 2.
    5. Trump's dementia becomes so apparent that even the GOP can't deny it, and they discard him in a Hail Mary to hold onto power.
    6. Trump loses, blusters a bit, then secretly sees it as a way out of something he never really wanted and enjoys a life of personality cult rallies and tweeting against the govt.
    7. Trump sees the writing on the wall, declines to run again, declares himself undefeated, refer back to No. 6.

The election won't take place in a vacuum.

Democratic candidates and the Democratic platform are a response to Trump and Trumpist Republicanism.

Soothing as it may be to separate the two as an intellectual exercise, they exist and compete in tandem and have to be considered as such.

At this point, I think a few million would.

This isn't true. Even a coffee repairman has denounced Trump's racist tweets. Come see for yourself.

What did you do to Yankee Fan? You ruined him. Either that or his whattaboutism schtick got even too boring for him to carry any longer.

I love how the Republicans sent the daughter of a war criminal to defend a racist president

To be fair, he still worships at the Altar of Whatabout, but he isn't going to pretend a blatantly racist tweet isn't blatantly racist.

I didn’t say they existed in a vacuum. The phrase “more than” would indicate conversations about both.

You've spent the last two years telling us you don't find Trump or his tweets - which are what we have now instead of a government - very interesting, and that the real danger to America is ten years from now when the "progressives" are in charge.

Well I see a couple arguing that Trump is telling the truth so it isn't really that bad. Not really surprising which dummies are spouting that crap. As far as the guy you mentioned there is still plenty of..."While it is fairly racist....".

The usual suspects are going to play the hits, but there are considerably more tapped in to common sense.
