But isn't this like not going to see all your buddies at a class reunion because your bully will be there? Show up and show you're better than him.

If they had overturned the call on the field, I wouldn't have objected. I thought he was safe.

No, it's like not going to a party in which the guest of honor was a total prick to you.

Maybe they don't want to be seen with Manky?

The Orioles still have a legit shot of catching Toronto for fourth in the AL East. That would be a small accomplishment, but it's all we have now as O's fans.

Heck, the Dodgers could fill a wing with Steve Garvey, Maury Wills, Fernando Valenzuela, Don Newcombe, Orel Hershiser and a combo of their plethora of Rookies of the Year.

It sounds strange, but I was honestly wishing Goodwin hadn't hit that game-tying homer and the Angels just lost in nine, and regrouped. Like you said, this game totally disrupted an already taxed pitching staff.

Dale Murphy just wrote an article that the emphasis on HRs (and then Ks) is just a phase and we’ll get back to contact and D; I seriously hope so because that’s the baseball I love, not this stuff.

Yes. I always preach against leaving early, so I had to watch until the end. I knew the possibility of the guy deep in the O's bullpen might be wild. He was, and then some. (He gave up a hit, got an out, then walked three in a row.)
For the last four years, I have tried unsuccessfully to go to bed earlier so I can get up earlier. I just can't do it. At 12 or 12:30 I'm not tired.
As it turned out, maybe eliminating Canning from tonight's game might be a good thing. He has had a couple of terrible starts recently and last night he gave up 5 runs in two innings. I bet that tonight, Gubicza will say how tough it was for Canning because he wasn't in his usual routine. I wonder how tough it was on the O's playing at 4 a.m. body time. I mean, that is even after last call in Baltimore.

    Colorado Rockies wing:

    1B: Todd Helton.
    2B: DJ LeMahieu
    SS: Troy Tulowitzki.
    3B: Vinnie Castilla.
    LF: Dante Bichette.
CF: Carlos Gonzalez or Charlie Blackmon.
    RF: Larry Walker.
    DH/1B: Andres Gallaraga.

That's a pretty formidable offensive team of players who won't make the HOF. Just missing pitchers (duh).

You could throw Mike Hampton in there.

Also, while looking up his stats on Baseball Reference, I saw something that made me chuckle. There have been only two Hamptons, no relation to each other, who have made it to the majors — Mike and Ike.
