How hard is it to fuck that up? Consoling sad people is something that normal humans do all the time. It should be, in some ways, one of the easiest parts of his job. Just be kind. I mean, it's a double-edged sword. Just be a basic decent human and be able to utter complete sentences, and you'll be adored by more than half the population. But the job itself is going to be a nightmare. And the economy is going to tank probably the day after Trump leaves office, because that's how he operates. I think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. It will take America years and years to rebuild, if it ever does.

Here is a small example. I was reading about forensic science last night. There are all sorts of former truths that have been rewritten in that field. Bite analysis, for example, is almost entirely bullshit. And a lot of arson investigation has later proven to be bogus. So under Obama, there was a national workshop assembled to fix the field, mostly to make sure people weren't wrongly convicted based on shaky evidence by so-called experts. The committee was close to agreeing on a host of changes to trial proceedings. And then Trump cancelled it. For whatever reason. Because it started under Obama, I guess. So that's one tiny thing in the vast spectrum of government work, and you're going to be starting all over again. Multiplied by some massive, perhaps impossible factor.
