President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

That's Trump's only play. He wouldn't commit to not contesting the outcome if he won in 2016, and he dang sure will when he loses next year.

 

I was at a barbecue the other night and the beers were flowing.
Started talking with a dude I did not know about cannabis futures. I tend to avoid politics in mixed settings.
All of a sudden guy says that he thinks Trump is a brilliant person with an ethical vacuum who is play-calling the economy's late volatility.
That a moron can't create an environment he wants and needs, and that his supporters want and need.
There are people who believe this - that Trump is conspicuously smart, capable of playing 63-dimension chess and able to game the economy.
And these people will be voting in 15 months.

 

Maybe they'll be dead by then, killed in one of those immigrant mass shootings.

 

About the only thing any administration can do to goose the economy is keep printing money, which they all do up to shortly before the election.

 

We have created generations of pissed off people over there.

If we would have gone over there and built clean drinking water facilities, upgraded their power grid, built better roads, we would have been out of there a decade ago.

But, fear and guns sell.

Or repeal all the Big Short housing restriction and start that time bomb ticking again.

 

So will a lot of other people. Once again, the election is a long long way away, so predicting its outcome is impossible. But if it were today, Trump would lose and lose decisively.

 

That will get his ass bounced long before his screaming racism ever will.
