Trump's biggest risk with Walsh in the race is that the President will spend time being needlessly distracted away from....being distracted from some other non-story.
So is Walsh running as the more credible and focused dog whistler?

Aaaand the party that fetishizes the Civil War seems to have one of its own. Again.

 

I honestly thought Haley jumped ship on the UN job because she didn't want her political career to be tarnished with the orange brush. She seems smart enough to know that Trump is the Titanic and will pull down anyone associated with him.

 

I thought it was because with Tillerson barely doing the Sec of State job, she could be more active as the UN rep. Pompeo's plan was to make the UN position a sub-cabinet level. She probably will be the least "scathed" person in the Trump administration. Good terms with Trump, not seen as a joke by the national media and still has GOP establishment cred.

 

All that goes away if she gets back into bed with Trump. Any GOP politico who hopes to have a career post Trump knows to distance themselves from him. McConnell and Graham know their days are numbered. They are trying to do what damage they can while they still can. Jordan, Nunes, Meadows are hacks trying desperately to hang onto whatever coattails that keep them in office.

 

McConnell seems to be in trouble, but Graham has no such issues.

I was talking more along the lines of age and shelf life rather than losing in 2020. Graham will probably win next year. That might be his last election. If he runs again and wins in 2026, by that time he will be irrelevant.
