I'm sure I would agree with that article, but I'm not giving Glem Greenwald's outfit any clicks.

You know that. I know that. But that military service instantly gives it to him for a large swath of the nation.

Didn't seem to work for Seth Moulton, who won a Bronze Star as a Marine.

Electoral repudiations have a way of putting people like Cotton back where they belong, no higher than congressional level.
Is there anyone in this cabal that has a future in politics?
It's like a football team built for one title run, and then can't get out of the first round.

The very worst answer to that question would be, “Yes.”

Their future will depend in large part on what happens next year. If Trump wins, they'll all fight to be his legacy 2024 nominee, with many casualties and only one winner. If Trump loses, well, then it depends on the margin. If it's narrow, see the Trump wins scenario. If he gets thumped, they'll all probably lie low for awhile, very vulnerable to up and comers who were obscure or even not in politics during the Trump years.

He's got a D next to his name. Put an R at the end with a Bronze Star and he'd be a GOP heavyweight.

(I'm not saying I think Cotton has gravitas. I think he's an idiot who thinks he's smart. I'm just telling you the perception of him from his staunchest supporters.)

Getting elected as a Republican in Arkansas is a lot like getting elected as a Democrat in Massachusetts. It shows some political skill, but is hardly a guarantee the pol is ready for the big leagues.

If Fatboy wins, he will select his successor, for 2024 or whenever he feels like leaving.

If, by some strange amazing completely unforeseen electoral miracle, the GOP sweeps the House and Senate as well as retaining Fatfuck, there will be no more national elections.

Senators and Representatives will be appointed by the president and "confirmed" by the Senate.
