With the military thing... isn’t that theoretically his base?

Didn't see the report, but do see people defending him by saying that repeatedly pointed out that it was based on a single source and hadn't been verified.

In other words, he knew it wasn't reportable when he reported it. Dumbass.

Some of the replies to O'Donnell are equally stupid. No, Donald Trump is not going to sue O'Donnell. Donald Trump will not sue anyone ever again. Because depositions.

Has his "reporting" subsequently been disproven or is it the (serious, nonetheless) one-source issue that's causing the fire?

My guess is O'Donnell convinced someone to let him go with the single source last night, but the grown-ups at NBC News caught wind of it this morning and smacked him down (and his producer, and whoever else let him go on air with a single fucking source on a bombshell story).

It may yet prove to be true, but he just blazed by all the protocol with it. He and his producer and whoever else was involved should be suspended.

As for the "not residing the U.S. thing" ... I think legally military bases, ships, and certainly embassies are considered U.S. soil.
The only way they haven't pulled this crap with PR and the other territories is because they are too dumb to understand those people are U.S. citizens.

The source needs to be doused with high octane rocket fuel, hung up from a telephone pole and torched. O'Donnell needs to name the source on live teevee.

Fellow journalists recoil in horror, "oh no, you can't do that, the source will cut you off forever."

So what? If they're going to feed you dogshit to advance their own agenda, who cares? Let 'em burn.

BTW the whole deal has a strong smell of Roger Stone/O'Keefe/Bannon ratfucking all around it. They got rid of Franken, maybe now it's O'Donnell's turn. Next?
Maddow? Colbert? Who knows, we'll see!

Or maybe O'Donnell could just follow the most basic guidelines of Journalism 101.

Did Trump push back on the loan co-signing story during his morning tweetstorm?

In a way, that IS one of the basic guidelines of Journalism 101: Only give anonymity to sources you can trust.
