If that's the only issue with them signing Brown, Gordon will be cut before the ink dries on Brown's contract. If you're only willing to deal with one head case, might as well make it one that is a significant talent upgrade over the old one.

Just guessing here … but based on this morning, maybe not on both counts.

Also, just as a follow-up on Schefter … well, he wasn’t wrong.

Finally watched this. I have no clue what AB thinks he's going to accomplish by doing that. That makes Gruden sound very reasonable: He stuck his neck out for AB, believes in AB, defended AB now can AB return the favor and shut up and play? Apparently not.

Pats or Cowboys or Jags or anyone I don't know who is going to take the risk after he's dumped by two teams in the span of one off season.

Just as a business proposition, does any team have sufficient cap space to make Brown an acceptable offer?

My second thought on this subject (first being - got to make a fantasy adjustment AGAIN damnit) was:

I’m a bit impressed with the Raiders having lined up the contract to allow a fairly neat, tidy and apparently cost free escape.

I was waiting for Gruden to say "Well Antonio, we're not PAYING you $30 million to be a human being - we're paying you to be a football play.

And also agreed about the cap space. You can't sign him unless you can also afford to cut him. If you can't hack it in the NFL with the Raiders and the Steelers, two orgs known to be pretty player friendly - I don't know where else you go. Figure it has to be a coach with serious sway so Seahawks, Pats, Saints and Rams are about it.

I seriously doubt that Brown's Pats' contract entails any serious cap damage. He's there on spec.

So was AB doing all this to get cut and go to NE?

Wasn't that where he wanted to go all along?

One year, $9 million signing bonus, could be as much as $15 mil. So it's basically using Gronk's cap space.
