I mean, that's a valid life philosophy. I don't subscribe to it for a whole host of reasons, but at least it's coherent. What I can't stand are people with hypocritical soups for souls, like those idiots who are anti-abortion but for the death penalty, or self-described Christians who are anti-refugee. They're the real wankers.

I think the idea that “free medical care = unsustainable demand” is equivalent to the “A=B” argument you mentioned earlier. It captures none of the complexity. People aren’t rational with their health care decisions. With regular, friction-free access to guidance from a primary care physician, maybe we can figure the dynamics of supply and demand a little better, and make things more efficient, with more people making rational choices.
