Even with the Raiders Plunkett's numbers weren't great. Comp pct over 55 percent 3 out of 7 seasons as a starter. Three of those years he had more picks than TDs and a fourth year he was even. And never topped 3,000 yards in passing for a season. Pretty safe bet that ANY qb in the league could have gotten the Raiders those two rings.

And more than 30 miles of uncrowded beaches with much less crime and congestion than Daytona, Lauderdale or Panama City. And a few of the best golf courses in the world.
As for the obviously racist sign, I don't think the place is owned by a typical redneck type or is reflective of the city.

Three resumes. One is in the HOF in his first year of eligibility, one took a few years to get in, and one you're on the fence about:

    Super Bowl MVP
    2× NFL Most Valuable Player
    7× Pro Bowl
    3× First-team All-Pro
    3× Second-team All-Pro
1x NFL Offensive Player of the Year
2× NFC Offensive Player of the Year
    4× NFL passing touchdowns leader
    6× NFL passer rating leader
    5× NFL completion percentage leader

    Super Bowl MVP
    2× NFL Most Valuable Player
    7× Pro Bowl
    2× First-team All-Pro
    1x Second-team All-Pro
2× NFC Offensive Player of the Year
    2× NFL passer rating leader
    1x NFL passing touchdowns leader

    Super Bowl MVP
    2× NFL Most Valuable Player
    4× Pro Bowl
    2× First-Team All-Pro
    2× NFL passing touchdowns leader
    3× NFL completion percentage leader
    2× NFL passer rating leader
    1x NFL passing yards leader

You can come off the fence. Rodgers is in.

Who the hell thinks Rodgers is on the fence? Did someone really say that?

    Edit: @Chef2 what the hell?

Rivers is a better qb. But rings.

It doesn't matter. I'm arguing from the POV of what the standard is for induction. He absolutely meets the standard. You can say the standard is bullshit -- Bob Griese is nodding -- but he's a two-time SB MVP, who played in New York and beat the Patriots twice on the biggest stage. He will absolutely get inducted and I don't know why Gee is donating to my daughter's college fund. If anyone else wants to bet me, name the wager and I will match it. Ya know, to a reasonable extent. I don't want to put anyone in the poor house when I inevitably win.

I agree he will get in, doesn’t mean he should.

    The owner is definitely Chinese.

A lot of this is where we place the emphasis on success.

    Regular season? Rivers.

Playoffs? Eli. Pretty easily and it's a large sample size.

Rivers - 11 games, 5-6, 14/10 and 84.2 passer rating. Never won an AFC Championship game or SB game.
Manning - 12 games, 8-4, 18/9, 87.4 passer rating, 4-0 in championship games and SBs.

Rivers teams could never beat NE and Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

Mannings teams could beat Green Bay and NE in the playoffs.

Any thoughts that don't involve Philip Rivers and Aaron Rodgers in the Hall of Fame are opiate-driven.

Now ... back to Week 3. Ron Rivera walks out of presser because of repeated questions about Cam Newton, who is still in a walking book.

That means Kyle Allen is starting Sunday in Glendale.

Also ... amazed AP was the first to go there about linking Colin Kaepernick and the Panthers. Figured Scott Fowler or Joe Person would have been all over that possibility first. We know David Tepper couldn't care less about what the owners think (and good for him). Kaepernick is better than anyone not named Newton on the QB chart. And finally ... his skill set would also mean that Norv Turner wouldn't be forced to draw up two distinctly different game plans.

How long did it take you guys to surmise that a Trevor Simien was an unacceptable substitute starting qb? One series? Two?
Kaep in his sleep could play better than that.

Nothing in bold means anything when you consider the era. In the top-10 for completions, only two ended their careers before 2000. Of the others, only Favre played significant time before 2000. For yards, only 3 in the top 11 finished before 2000 (Moon moved up and Ryan went down compared to completions). For TDs, two of the top 10 finished before 2000. When you are in the top 10 in a category but everybody around is playing at the same time, the ranking doesn't have that much meaning.

Check out how Eli ranks career in yards/attempt or yards/completion. Not in the top 10 for active players and 86th or worse for his career. Eli is 14th in career interceptions and only Favre, his brother, and Testaverde played after 2000 and only 1 other played after 1990. Compared to his competition he is not good for the stats you listed and he is historically meh in other stats.
