Putting away teams is a lost art. Or a conspiracy by the leagues and TV to make sure no one turns off a game with 10 minutes to go.

Not every time. That Patriots-Jets game yesterday was nowhere near as close as 30-14.

Why would Brian Flores get fired? He is doing exactly what he is supposed to do.

Apparently the leader in the clubhouse for Super Bowl rings is...
Kathleen Rooney Mara. She’s Art Rooney’s granddaughter and Wellington Mara’s daughter in law. She has 6 rings from the Steelers and 4 from the Giants.
She’s also Kate and Rooney Maras’ mother

Ridiculous. Final scores often don't indicate one team's dominance. And they have point spreads to induce gambling. No other reason.

The Chiefs got comfortable -- on both sides of the ball. This happens all the time.

If the media and other voters could just keep this immense asshole out of the HOF, that would the best year ever!

The first sentence is the most important part. They made the right call. It's not what the officials did that turned the game. It's what Barron did. He really is awful. Even worse, he often looks lazy out there. Watch the replay on the deep ball to the fullback in the first half. Instead of hustling or raising his hands, he pulled up.

The defense is getting worn out by the end of every game because the offense can't control the ball. Conner doesn't look good. Neither does the offensive line. I wonder, is the trade a good one if Fitzpatrick develops into an outstanding safety, but the pick ends up in the top 10? It sounded like the Steelers had delusions of competing this season in mind when they made that deal, which was a big mistake.

Good. That defense is worlds better already with him. They've not been able to create turnovers for shit in the last few years. Rudolph's first start, on the road. He wasn't great but he wasn't awful. The 49ers are much better than they've been recently. Steelers will be fine. Could still see them winning that division because -- while 0-3 -- they've yet to play a division game.

I do think that football and basketball are the hardest sports to play when you're up 20-30 points (or 3-5 primary scores). Those require a level of aggression with discipline and it's natural to taper off. If you're down 11-4 in baseball or 3-0 in soccer, a comeback is near impossible. But we see teams come back from 28-3 in football or down 61-42 in basketball at least with some regularity. Basketball brings a trickier proposition is that, when a team erases a 22-point deficit, they often have nothing left to close out the game.
