Duck that. Someone reclines in front of me they aren’t going to have an enjoyable flight. I will accidentally being banging their seat for a large portion of the trip.

No, reclining your seat is the bitch move. You want to make my flight uncomfortable I will do the same for yours.

Pretty much. First of all, there needs to be a story about how the airline industry has turned once-relatively-comfy plane travel into a horror-show in terms of packing people in like sardines. Rows in which 2 people should sit now seats 3 cheek to jowl, so uncomfortable. And the seats aren't as wide. The whole thing is an abomination. But hey, the airlines are getting filthy rich packing 'em in.

As for reclining ... yes even though I hate when the person in front of me does it.

I don't think I can fly again unless it's first class.

Or you could just recline your own seat. Ya know, pay it backwards.

Why would I do that to the person behind me?

How does the person reclining in front of you make your flight worse? Does the seat recline into you? is it physically hitting you?

I've never understood this. I'm over 6-0, and I've never been agitated with a reclined seat in front of me, and I feel 100x better if I can recline.

Because it's your right? I'm never offended when someone reclines their seat in front of me.

That's LOL worthy but I don't go that far.

Just say no to reclining. You should be able to doze off (sleep lightly) in your seat without doing it. Personal space is tight enough in coach as it is ... don't make it worse.

I'm fine with the person reclining ahead of me if they're actually going to sleep. I don't like it, but that's what it's there for. When the person reclines just to be more "comfy," however, they're in for a long fucking flight.

I always politely asked the person behind me if I could move the seat an inch, and no more. That was enough to keep my lower back and hip bone from barking at me on any flights over an hour. Something about the pitch of the seats has changed over the years. And probably my spine as well. (Not even mentioning how narrow they've become and close together.)

Most of the time, they obliged. If they didn't, I didn't press the issue.
