No, they always don't. But a 2B who consistently had 850+ chances in a season has to be making some plays. Maybe even diving once or twice.

A really interesting theory is that guys who used to hit 400-foot homers to the gaps are now just hitting them farther into the crowd, while guys who used to hit a lot of warning-track shots are getting just enough extra distance to clear the fences instead. I've seen a lot of "just barely" homers this season, but that could be anecdotal more than statistical.

Based on results on the field, that’s crossed their mind. Tropicana Field is in a shitty part of town, and that’s the reason the Rays have some of the best TV ratings in MLB.

But speaking as the person who divorced the team after the Montreal thing, move the team … not to Montreal, but to Nashville. It puts an AL presence in an area of the country that’s exclusively NL at the moment (Reds/Braves), and Nashville doesn’t suck. Plus it sticks a thumb in Montreal’s eye.

I looked at it as a $20 pass from the heat for three hours that just happened to include a baseball game.

And Greinke loses it with one out in the ninth.

Nats seem to be setting up for Max to start the WC game. Brewers?

max is the best but unless he’s back to peak form, Stras may be the better choice. I’d also hold Stras back from his last regular season start today. Home field in the wildcard isn’t as important as a well-rested pitching staff.

Brewers are planning on Flaherty going.

Curtis Granderson is the active leader in career triples with 95, good for 184th place on the alltime triples list. Dexter Fowler is 2nd in active with 82 at 262nd alltime. No other active player is in the top 400 of all time triples.

It really is amazing the run the Brewers are on, but I wonder if all that bullpenning will catch up to them this year.
