President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

The key will be the messaging. Can the Democrats explain cleanly to an American population fatigued by non-stop impeachment talk how this is different and why it matters?

Just my take: Likening him to a mob boss does not help. Mob bosses are kind of...celebrated in American culture. I know people, individually, who list The Godfather, Goodfellas, Miller's Crossing, Road to Perdition, Donnie Brasco, Casino and American Me as their favorite movies of all time.

Trump's mobbyish nature is part of his appeal. Americans like a heavy.

The Democrats would be better likening him to a Wall Street hedge fund raider, or something. To a worm. With every charge that Trump is base and shameless in his dealings, he becomes more like the reality TV jackos that people love to hate watch. He already is like them.

 

Pence would be in office about 6 days and Democratic leaders would miss Trump.
