What has been glossed over is that the whistleblower went to the IG with things that he had heard said and the names of those who made those statements to him. The IG, by all accounts a straight arrow career guy, non-political, interrogated the named people, probably under oath. He looked at the information gathered in those interviews and approved the whistleblower account and advanced it per the law.

All the people saying "It's all hearsay" are full of shit.

Speaking of the whistleblower, whoever it is they deserve a medal for coming forward, and the NYT deserves a solid nutkick for outing him. There just can't be that many CIA analysts who cycle through the White House.

I’ll be shocked if even a simple majority of the Senate votes to remove. Only 47 Democrats to begin with, and at least two of them are DINOs. Gabbard is an out and out Trumpist and Manchin is from West Virginia.

    Yes and no.
Pence would make it clear that he thinks our government should be an evangelical Christian theocracy. He would go crazy on executive orders.
But he wouldn’t be the viscerally offensive, personality repugnant embarrassment to the country that Trump is.
He’d do damage but in a more subtle way.
He would engender a different sort of disdain.

If they don't vote for impeachment, they have to be responsible for that in their next election. Some will be safe, but there are a lot of people out there who are fed up and will vote the bastards out.
