    I’ll say Frank Gore.

I didn’t think it was Payton, but could think of anyone closer. He was only off by 400 or so yard.

Damn good guess but incorrect. Tomlinson “only” had 4772 yards receiving.

EDIT: and tiki won’t make the hall bc he a) retired the year before they won that historic 2007 title, and b) has a bad reputation

Guy was a plugger for years. Those other two — Faulk and Allen — are inner ring running backs with rings and MVPs. Tiki is the guy considered a cancer whose team won the title the year after he retired. Plus all those bad personal issues headlines:

I would vote for him, largely for this accolade.

Barber had an odd career. Was a third-down, spot starter back for his first five years. The next (and final five), he averaged more than 2,000 yards a year from scrimmage and was good for nine touchdowns each season.

I haven’t looked it up, but I don’t think there are many runnings backs who averaged 2000 plus for five years in a row.

What Pro Football Hall of Famer, who is in the Hall as a player, played the least amount of seasons? By seasons, official NFL, AFL, AAFC only.

I know Sayers only played five or six years.

Or is it some obscure guy from the 1920s?

Not sayers. He got seven seasons, but in two of them he played in two games.

This guy played six seasons in the aafc/nfl.

Your hint makes me think it's an African-American who was prevented from playing. I thought Marion Motley but looked him up and he played nine seasons.
