I see the similar Profiles in Courage by republicans every day, especially over the last 10 days or so.

I guess if any impact is beyond your IRA, it doesn't really matter.

I remember a time when if a President said something like this it would dominate the news cycle for a week. Now it's just a blip in the afternoon scandal flow.

4:05 p.m.: Trump bizarrely suggests Big Pharma is pushing his impeachment

Trump accused pharmaceutical companies of being behind the House Democrats’ push for impeachment because of his administration’s work to lower drug prices.

Even if you don’t give a shit about anyone but yourself
McConnell has already said if Trump wins and the GOP retakes the House they’re going after Social Security and Medicare
Suddenly that secure retirement I currently enjoy is jeopardized
Add a downturn in the market and I’m bagging groceries at Publix in my golden years
But it’s about a lot more than me
    That’s why I’m not a Republican
They make it clear they don’t give a shit about me
Trump just adds cruelty to the picture

<--- This is my shocked face.

    Also in this afternoon's WaPo:

A bipartisan letter dated Feb. 12, 2016, signed by Republican Sens. Rob Portman (Ohio), Ron Johnson (Wis.), and Mark Kirk (Ill.) and sent to Ukraine’s then-president Petro Poroshenko, asks him to make changes in the office of the top prosecutor.

The letter, first unearthed by CNN, shows that then-vice president Joe Biden was not alone in wanting Ukraine to oust its prosecutor over concerns about the corruption pervasive in the country.

The senators wrote to the Ukrainian president that they “urge you to press ahead with urgent reforms to the Prosecutor General’s office and judiciary.”

Trump has said that Biden wanted the prosecutor ousted because he’d investigated a Ukrainian natural gas company that employed Biden’s son, Hunter. There has been no evidence found to support this accusation, and the letter shows that concerns about the prosecutor were widespread and bipartisan.

To that point, my local town council recently used a 3-2 majority to rebuff a bond referendum that passed with a 70 percent majority to fund the move of the local library into a new building at the center of town that the previous town council had purchased. Instead, they sold the building - without listing it and without getting its value assessed - for what is likely well below market value. The deal made was underhanded at best (it is widely suspected some or all of the three voting members received some sort of financial gain) and most likely illegal (the town loaned the buyer the money in excess of what is allowed by the town charter).

When town residents revolted, the Town Council slashed the library funding in half as retribution.

I don't blame the U.S. President for this, but the town council certainly appears emboldened by the way politics have suddenly changed. The Town Council President has literally berated and disparaged residents who spoke out against the sale during public forums. The lack of civility is astounding.

Vote them out, then tar, feathers and out of town on a rail. Also, I'd call the FBI about this deal. It cannot be legal.
