I'm sure once the chess-in-the-9th-dimension talking points get faxed around, we'll know why this happened.

Trump: "Okay, right. Okay."

 

Maybe he's talking about Space Force's laser beams.

 

If the Democratic leadership had any brains (I know, right?!?) they'd be out today labeling it as "Trump's Isis Surrender" and they'd be asking why does the "rebuilt and greatest military force of all time" have to retreat against a tinpot dictator?

Because undoubtedly that is exactly what is happening.

Two thoughts.
1) Another Trump diversion so we won't think about impeachment. Like that's been a winning strategy, right?
2) On the campaign trail next year (assuming he's in office), in another series of half-truths, he frames this as "I got our boys out of Syria, which Obama couldn't do." or words to that effect.
