I am afraid the will run Pence/Haley. They might get some support with that ticket.

Don't worry about that. They're all in too deep to let go of Trump now. And Mother would never let Pence have a woman VP.

The GOP could cut bait on Trump this minute with a number of candidates and probably win if they wanted to:
Kasich - about as generic a Republican as it gets and, I believe, actually capable of doing the job.
Romney - established, known, sounds educated when he speaks.
Ryan - in hiding but surely a mega donor darling, a history of leadership.
Limp wrist Lindsey - reverse his heel turn, quietly carry out the GOP agenda and not be a daily dumpster fire.

For the record, the doucher Sevier County commissioner who went on his little Klan tirade is getting destroyed nationally, on the state level, and even in his home town.
Dollywood issued a statement against him. When Dollywood doesn't want anything to do with your dumb ass... damn.

outside of places like Staten Island, Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst, it’s hard to understate just how fucking hated Trump is in NYC.

I’m ready for the Conservative Party to nominate someone who is not a complete dogmatic policy wonk. Most politicians want to get re-elected so never expected that Scheer would govern as a wingnut. But would it hurt the party to have a leader who can excite some Red Tories (like myself.)

Trudeau could have held majorities for 20 years, but he screwed it up. Any conservative with a pulse could have beaten him. Luckily for Trudeau, Scheer has no pulse.

There is not a more important job done worse in North America than politicians.

    Alma: Trump’s terrible.

    Also Alma: Democrats are worse.

    Charm matters in electoral politics.
It doesn't explain Trump but it does Trudeau, and even Rob Ford to some extent.
If you're going to run an empty suit like Scheer, the person better be smart as a whip. That was not the case in this election.
