At this point, I'll stay up for potential series-ending games in sports I enjoy. Basically, baseball and hockey, since the other sports are usually more rigidly timed. Game 1? Forget about it, even when it's a team I follow.

Did they turn it on/off after all the bad calls to distract the TV audience? Like the time UT was on the goal line and was in a hurry up offense and went to the wildcat and the refs suddenly, inexplicably, stopped the clock and then rewound it FOR NO KNOWN REASON????????

Only saw a photo on Twitter. But no reason to doubt that scenario.

I think they bathed the stadium in red light to get fans hyped for the kickoff. I kept expecting them to show this guy playing around in the control room:

Seems an odd choice following a player's manager with another player's manager. Ross has indeed had a charmed baseball life.
In most cases, you hire "for" something that your most recent hire lacked. I don't see a lot that Ross brings that Maddon didn't have. Is the thinking that it is more important to keep the locker room together during the regular season to make the playoffs and have a good bench coach help with the critical moves in the post-season? There are a few World Series winning managers that are available.

Verlander complains that it’s against the unwritten rules to get hits when he pitches.

That Astros LF looks like he has never played in that park. He’s Jose Martinez in a Houston uniform.

Is the home plate ump from Hawaii?
If he was, he's all over that.

Walgreens playing the beer league softball defense, in which the second baseman is playing more like a second right fielder than an over shifted second baseman in shallow right.
