I’ll defend Rizzo a bit. He built a good bullpen that failed. Was Rosenthal foreseeable ? That it failed is without question but he made good acquisitions And Martinez didn’t recognize the failures soon enough to make whatever adjustments there could be made. Martinez has been a very good September and October manager this year. All things being equal, that is where the award should lay.

and a big fuck you to Bryce and Boras. They didn’t go to win. And they didn’t go for the money. They went to Philly to get the headline BIGGEST CONTRACT EVER. And it lasted for 2 weeks until Trout. Now Harper has to get multiple pennants and a championship to show his face.

Yes. He hadn't pitched since 2017.

But, even after a loss, he gets to go home to his trophy.

Buck talks with Chris Russo about getting pulled off the Yankees/Astros game for Thursday Night Football. I thought this was worth a listen.

And yet Buck is doing football tonight.

So he's doing: World Series (Tuesday-Wednesday), Thursday Night Football (Thursday), World Series (Friday-Saturday-possibly Sunday).

Only reason he wasn't on football on Sunday was because of possible Game 7 of the ALCS, but surprised Fox didn't shuttle him after the Astros won Saturday night.

He's got to be on every big event on Fox.

Like when he did a 49ers game then the Giants that same night in the World Series.

The difference was that Yankees-Astros game wasn't supposed to happen on Thursday -- it was pushed back because of the rainout.
