It got changed but...what the hell was some 27 year old at the Washington Post thinking?

Is this "fake news" or did this really occur at the Post? First headline writer must be fired if true. "Religious scholar?" my gosh.
This kind of begs a political question on a sports board. Is there something to the charges of "fake news" nowadays? Is "fake news" something that actually is happening in journalism?

It was real. They're on their third headline now, which calls him an "extremist leader of Islamic State."

What if he's all these things?

That headline is a terrible error in judgment.

    But that's all it is.

It doesn't beg any question. You're not using that phrase correctly. It prompts or begets the question. It does NOT beg the question. Begging the question is using circular reasoning.

Cross post to new thread ... Things that really, REALLY irk you

The equivalent Trump obit will read: Noted Internet philosopher and fashionista.

It’s an error in judgment - a fireable offense - if it was some jackass making a joke.

If it was a serious headline, it’s an error in thought, and perhaps Post culture.

The parodies of this on Twitter have been great. My favorite was from some guy named Walter Russell Mead (I guess he's some conservative pundit): "Genghis Khan, accomplished horseman and indefatiguable traveler, breathes his last."

As it relates to which political figure? Trump? Someone else?

Every day on Fox includes willful ignorance of Trump's crimes. It casts him as the victim rather than the perp.
