I'd have kept Strasburg in. He got the first batter on one pitch, and Alvarez and Springer are a combined 0-for-5 right now. He's got 104 pitches and doesn't have to throw a ball again until mid-February.

I never like showing a team your closer unless needed.

The Strasburg post season is epic. 5-0, under 2 ERA and under 1 WHIP.

I can’t believe they didn’t leave Strasburg in.

Yup. And with two RH batters coming up behind Alvarez, no less.

Crazy stat, that no postseason series in the history of MLB, NHL or NBA has gone to Game 7 without a home victory.

Maybe Bregman shouldn’t have been such a dick in the 1st inning

Great moments in degenerate gambling: I put a few shekels on the Nats at +650 to win in seven games before the series began. Could hedge out with the 'Stros but letting it ride is tempting.

    Three thoughts:
    1) No matter what happens in Game 7, Strasburg has destroyed the memory of The Shutdown after that performance and this postseason, right?

    2) No matter what happens in Game 7, this is going to be a missed opportunity that the loser takes to the grave. Either the Nationals for losing four out of five after going up 2-0 on the road, or the Astros for blowing two chances to close it out at home.

    3) How rare is it that a guy acquired in a deadline trade, ostensibly to put a team over the top and win the World Series, actually gets the chance to put his team over the top and win the World Series like Zach Greinke does tomorrow night?
