I will mythologize Deadspin. But I don’t understand the sudden rush to pour out a 40 for Splinter.

It was a shitty font of Bernie worship and filled with sneering contempt for all non-Berners. It wasn’t well-written or seemingly edited at all. Hamilton Nolan had to go into hiding for three months after his Obama column. Libby Watson once cried sexism over the criticism of her Obama hot take and then had the site editors purge all the commenters who were mean to her.

It wasn’t even around for very long. And there are other sites, like Jacobin, that do a much better job of deifying St. Bernard.

It's cute that she thinks she has any power to do a damn thing to anyone of import.

Not to mention, pissing off Deadspin may actually endear you to other sites and publications.

LOL her tweet is funny in a weird sort of way. What exactly is she threatening?

Whole lotta Judy "isn't following the rules!" in that tweet.

How about this narrative that Deadspin has been some bastion of great journalism for the past 2 decades? Umm talk about revisionist history. I mean god forbid all these blue checkmark brigade losers who hate me and think Barstool is bad look into Deadspin's past. They make me look like Mother Theresa. They’ve posted sex videos without consent, outed people without consent and had an entire division dedicated to dick pics. You aren’t the New York Times or even the NY Post. You don’t have the moral high ground and you never did. So stop trying to act holier than thou. If you hate working for your new owners so much go quit and find a new job. Oh right none of you have any talent or spine and know you probably wouldn’t be hired anywhere else.
    Nailed it.

That reminds me: Still trying to work crotchfruit into a conversation. I might be spending too much time at work because the occasion has not arisen.

Well, probably because the fucking ads on all of their properties have been broken for 12+ months now, whether we're talking about Deadspin, Kotaku, The A.V. Club, etc. I can barely navigate any of those sites on my computer, with the "best" thing lately being the autoplaying of videos on their various properties.

I definitely understand why people don't care for Deadspin, but don't forget that G/O is in a race with those fucks that now own Sports Illustrated for running their newly-bought properties into the ground as quickly as possible. (And at the end of it all, Barstool will probably be left standing, because they're basically just run by the Trump of all of these sites - he's shitty, but he knows he's shitty and never attempts to hide it, which some people oddly seem to be OK with.)
