I think resigning on principle is an incredibly brave thing to do. But maybe that's just me.

    1. Deadspin writers will be fine. They’ll get hired elsewhere.

    2. Ownership wanted to run off the current group. That’s obvious. Mission accomplished.

    3. Good luck hiring replacements.

They'll find replacements faster than these quitters quit.

I get a kick out of the *Union* announcing resignations that gut its power.

The resignations themselves were probably inevitable. Deadspin’s writers were never really sportswriters. They were creative writers who used sports as a way of promoting progressive politics. Which is fine. I’m sad it’s leaving. And I’m not sad too.

Bears asking again how many of these people have other mouths to feed.
I like teachable moments from edgelords who out assault survivors.

Magary has kids and hasn’t quit yet, I don’t think. David Roth is another big one.

I wouldn't be surprised if Magary is the one writer with a contract. He's their golden goose.

The Deadcast is in my rotation of podcasts. I’ve noticed that in the past couple of months, they almost never actually have ads in the spots where they take a break. So not very good business people.

I also assume that his contract would go through football season.
