We've had gridlock in DC for nine years - it isn't like the GOP would like to solve the debt, global warming, immigration and shoring up healthcare if only the Ds wouldn't be so focused on impeachment.

I’m operating under the idea that these folks have seen (and in the case of the CIA done) far worse than this.

I think it’s fairly clear the concern for Joe or Hunter Biden here was minor. This was about the poor Ukraine getting leveraged. (Which, in the end, it did not.) or, from a larger view, this is a community of officials sort of making decisions on who is and is not suitable to oversee foreign policy irrespective of what voters think. When AOC is president one day she could be no less vulnerable.

I think it's a pretty big problem that many of our elected leaders don't appear to understand seventh-grade civics.
That shit stain isn't coming out in the wash.
Trump will be gone but we will still have Cotton, Scalise, Nunes, Gaetz and others in the national conversation for many years to come.

The whataboutism is strong with this one.

Your assumption is ridiculous, but more importantly, it is irrelevant.

$400 million in aid for Ukraine wasn't enacted to give Donald Trump a slush fund to buy Ukraine's help in the 2020 election.

This has nothing to do whether or not aid to Ukraine is the right or wrong thing to do.

Are they "making decisions on who is and is not suitable to oversee foreign policy?" Or are they testifying to the facts as they know them, which may or may not make a case that the President has committed impeachable acts?

If they chose NOT to report what they have testified to, wouldn't they also be "making decisions on who is and is not suitable to oversee foreign policy," based on your characterization of what's happening here?
