'Bama home games are already a nightmare. UA-LSU is eversomuch more so. Throw in the logistics of a presidential motorcade, and this will be a gigantic clusterfuck.

I hope the fans are all kinds of pissed off.

It is illegal and it isn’t important. Let’s say that someone anonymously tells the police that an individual was selling fake gun permits. Their complaint says that they haven’t seen anything personally but details what others have told them. The police investigate, speaking to people named in the complaint who witnessed the behavior. They find that the actions alleged are largely true and arrest the person selling the fake permits. The name of the person who made the anonymous complaint is irrelevant. The facts alleged are proven to be true.

We have whistleblower laws because, as a society, we have decided that rooting out improper behavior in government and companies is a public good and should be encouraged. People should not be punished for bringing forward improper behavior but should instead be protected.

While I understand that the first motivation of the person accused is to try to identify the accuser. And when the facts are against you, the next line of defense is to say that the accused is biased. Maybe they are — rare is the person who acts with completely pure motives.

What is depressing is that the entire GOP has either adopted Trump’s attacks on the whistleblower or stood silent. There are no adults in the room anymore on the GOP side

What a little weasel. Rand Paul could have stood there instead and announced the whistleblower's name HIMSELF. ... and broken the law, but since he's such a principled guy, that should have been no deterrent.

Instead, he threw out some unsubstantiated allegations, poured some inuendo on it, and ended with the tired old, "The media is the problem."

    What a dishonest coward.
