The hedgehog you voted for is going to have to hustle just to win Texas. That's the kind of battle he faces.

When asked today in a CBS interview, Don Jr. that Mitt Romney was his favorite Democrat. And it led me to wonder what Trump and his spawn think makes someone a Democrat or a Republican. I assume just fealty/no fealty to the Orange One

I'd phrase that a little differently. If support for impeachment goes over 60%, I suspect that McConnell and the Senate R's will drop him like a hot rock.

The Senate races couldn't be worse for impeachement. Sure there are more Republican seats up - but they're largely in the SEC part of the country. My guess is most R Senators will "defer to the people" and let them decide if the President should stay in office. That way they won't risk being primaried.
I also assume priority no. 1 for Republicans in 2020 is to keep the Senate, rather than the WH. And that will ultimately guide their decision.

Agreed. Stated better than mine, but that was basically what I meant.

Gardner, McNally, Ernst, Collins, Tillis. For those Republican Senators up in 2020, the impeachment verdict is a double-edged sword. Whatever they do, they risk pissing off just enough voters to lose their jobs.
