I enjoyed Mayans. Season 1 was overall better than 2 but still good. With Sutter having nuked his connection, I fear the SOA reveal from the end of the finale could go to shit or turn into a cop out.

    Well, if it was
    Chibs on the floor
    , the Mayans are fucked.

I loved the Deuce and will genuinely miss the characters.

The real ending was the end of the penultimate episode. In fact, I thought it really WAS the series ender.

While the real ending was a bit of a stylistic leap, I thought they landed it just fine.

I didn't hate the ending, just thought it was -- as you said -- a stylistic leap. And you described exactly why I missed Treme, another Simon show. It didn't have the drama that The Wire had, but I just loved spending Sunday nights with those characters.

its sort of a fundamental issue I have with the show that its hard to root for the new guys. Last year when they revealed Happy killed EZ’s mom, its like I’m never going to root for someone to kill Happy. Ever. They wrote themselves out of that one, but it was not very real or satisfying.

I’m afraid theyll weasel out if the dead Son will be some no name soldier from Robert Patricks crew (they’re still California I think) and not even a Samcro guy. If they did kill Chibs I dont see how the show survives. The only dopes watching are SOA fans who will never root for a buncha idiots that killed Chibs

Couple of episodes in on The Watchmen. I like it but don’t know any of the backstory at all. Guessing that would enhance the enjoyment.

It would add something to the third episode, which helps orient things with the comic better, but I don't think it is crucial. The reveal at the end of the third episode won't mean much if you don't know the back story.

I agree. I hope they don't go that route.

    My wife was binge-watching "Evil".

Have to admit, it's pretty fucking cool. For a network show, it's way beyond the norm.

  10. Ray Donovan is fucking terrible.
    Limped through 1 season.

Apparently Shaneless returned last night. I say that bc I saw no ads and had no idea until I was reading a Watchmen review and it had a “Shameless premiere” link down below.

Whys everything on Showtime outstay its welcome by 4 years?

I quit it halfway through last season ... read a review of the premiere today, it was not kind.
