Stone won't be pardoned, because then he could be forced to testify truthfully before Congress or in related criminal trials (hi, Rudy!). Trump would instead commute his sentence to nothing. That's what GW did for Scooter Libby.

 

I hope prosecutors held back a couple of charges on Stone so they can haul him in again if Trump does try to let him off the hook in some way or another.

What makes you think that Stone will be any more truthful after a pardon than he was before?

 

Because if you lie, you can be brought up on perjury charges and the pardon does you no good, since they're new charges. You'll get asked the veery same questions, so you can't repeat your answers without admittedly lying.
