Hill does nothing for me. It's just a bunch of grandstanding.

(Nunes doesn't either and never has. Jordan had a moment or two in the Mueller hearing I liked - clearly Mueller had no idea what was in his own report - but he's been a mindless badger during these proceedings, for the most part.)

It's all theater designed to put stakes to the decision to withhold aid. That's the part I don't get. When Sondland said yesterday that Trump didn't give a shit about the Ukranian aid, my response was, well, neither do most Americans. The real thing here was Joe Biden getting fucked with.

I am reminded of The Office episode where Michael attempts to frame Toby, and Toby, upon learning this, is more distressed by the wasting of the cops' time.

Just to be clear: Foreign aid does not exist for the President to use as leverage to help his re-election campaign. You agree with this, right?

You couldn't have expected anything different, no?

Actually, yes, I do agree. The Biden piece of this is far more concerning to me than the aid piece, though. I've seen our federal government pull out the absolute stops over the last however months to fall all over the necessity of this $400 million to Ukraine. One could only wish America captured the government's imagination the way these foreign escapades do.

$400 million or $10. To Ukraine or Israel or Russia. None of those things matter.

This is about the proper and ethical expenditure of appropriated government funds. Whether you agree or disagree with the appropriation is not relevant.

The President can't be trusted with the check book. That much is certain.

Watching the hearing, I get a very strong sense it is very much about Ukraine and, beyond that, Russia. The concern for Biden has been nearly non-existent.

It should be really, really easy for the White House to introduce into evident some work products created over the last six months in their campaign against Ukraine corruption where pursued cases about anything OTHER than Burisma, Biden or Crowdstrike. A power point? A brief?

Do you think the President could even name one other instance of Ukrainian corruption, other than Burisma, Biden or Crowdstrike?

You don't think it's important to note that the president and the gop members of the intel committee are basing their worldview on blatant falsehoods that are easily disproved and make it far easier for russia to repeat its election interference, this time with official approval from the white house?

That may have something to do with the fact that the current president of the United States is more relevant than the former VP.

The President of the United States clearly has a mental deficiency, as evidenced by his inability to recognize that the massive car he always rides around in is waiting directly in front of him.

And yet, we just bumble along as a Republic. Heaven help us.
