The fact that seemingly the only important thing to Trump was the announcement of the investigations, rather than the substantive investigations themselves, is the perfect distillation of this presidency.

 

I thought DOJ policy was that he couldn't be indicted.

 

Keeping in mind that I’m 99.44 percent sure the Senate won’t vote to remove Trump from office if the House Dems impeach. But the other .55 percent of me is curious. Suppose the Senate did, somehow vote to remove Trump.

What’s the procedure for doing so? Is Trump told that he has to be out by the next day? Is he given two weeks notice? Do Pence and John Roberts just show up in the Oval and tell Trump to take a hike? How does removal actually work?

If that's outlined somewhere, I don't know.
The logical thing would be that his successor is sworn in as soon as the gavel raps. You certainly wouldn't allow him to do anything.

After three+ years, we've finally found Trump's qualifications for president:

 

Just think, if the corrupt administration was still in place in Ukraine, all trump would have had to do was make a quick cell phone call to start the investigation.
We would now be hearing about corrupt Biden. And no one would suspect a thing.
I have also believed from the beginning that he did not want an actual investigation, just the appearance of one that trump could grind on every f'ing day.
He is like pigpen, a dark cloud hanging over this world.

 

I don't think there's any time frame specified in the constitution, which I assume would mean the removal from office would become effective immediately upon tabulation of the vote.

I assume the articles of impeachment would contain a concluding paragraph explicitly calling for immediate effect upon passage by the requisite margin, especially since the POTUS has the capacity to take massively damaging action in literally minutes should he so choose.

 

Had the Democrats not taken control of the House in the midterms, we'd never have heard of any of it.
