Dawson does a flying headbutt off the top rope and Mauro says he’s paying tribute to Harley Race.

Like that worked out well for the last couple of unmentionable guys who used to do that.

I've got to guess we get Seth Rollins (or Roman) interfering in this last match to resounding boos.

    "Seth's not cool" chant.

    Heh, heh.

NXT was fire from start to finish tonight.

With that brand’s mentality lighting a fire under everyone I think we’re in for a hell of a weekend

Absolutely. I think the only lull was when the second tier of the main roster women attacked after the Kay Lee Ray/Dakota Kai match. The crowd didn't really care until Io Shirai and Kairi Sane faced off.

Its a tad disappointing that almost every “dream match” from all 3 shows the past 2 weeks has ended with a run in.

I get it though, protect everyone going into the PPVs, mostly crowd won’t mind because they’re seeing more of their faves.

The only way they can screw up Survivor Series is if all those amazing looking 3ways do the same and don’t have finishes.

Got around to AEW..... this company seems to beat its “stars” (Baker, Omega, Bucks) a lot. Its very odd to me.

NXT wins the ratings (thanks Becky) but AEW wins the 18-49 demo. Who are the 50 year olds tuning in for NXT?

I noticed that too. I'm not sure the Young Bucks have won a big match yet. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a couple of things:

    1) Because they're starting from scratch they're trying to cash in on the stars' credibility to build more stars. AEW only has about a half-dozen recognizable names to casual fans, so giving people like Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin and Private Party wins over the top stars both legitimizes them as competitors and gives them a chance to gain a following.

    2) I think that the established stars like Jericho, the Bucks, Omega and Cody having a stake in the company is a factor. I think they see the need to build the rest of the card, and are willing to use their position at the top to do it. Because they have a stake, they're more secure in their position and willing to lose a bit more.

    3) The stars might be sensitive to being seen as hypocrites. AEW was established, in part, because a bunch of these guys were being held down in WWE. If the stars now come in and flex their muscle to do the same, it could sink AEW in a hurry. So maybe the stars do a few more jobs than you'd expect to set an example that things are going to be different around here.

That all makes sense (doesnt really explain the womens division) but it assumes a huge chunk of the million people watching were Ring of Honor and New Japan people.

I think its obvious that ROH wasn’t drawing that many eyes. I’m a new viewer. For “the elite” (besides the Bucks who’ve looked incredible) I’m sitting here wondering what all the hypes about. Esp. for Omega.

I think outside Jericho, Allin’s been their most electric, interesting performer and Scorpio Sky is probably next.

Guevara and Private Party have also been excellent.

The thing worth Omega has been that they’ve been doing the same soft-pedaling that Cody and the Bucks have been doing, when really, he should be the face of the show and should be protected.

Allin blew me away by wrestling Chris Jericho for the better part of 10 minutes with his hands literally tied behind his back.
