Unless I'm mistaken, the NFL has basically the entire game wired for sound. They will probably be able to hear everything said on the field, especially concerned the QB.
He was asked after the game if Rudolph said anything to set him off. He said no. Case closed.

No, Garrett would not be off the hook even if his accusation was true. Even that is not justification for assaulting Rudolph with his helmet.

Maybe it mitigates things a little and it is a fair argument for Garrett to be reinstated in time for the opener in 2020. It also gets Rudolph in some trouble. That's the real problem here. There will be people who just assume it is true and Rudolph will have to live with that.

It doesn't seem like there is much credibility to Garrett's claim, for reasons already covered on this thread.

True or not, his suspension was upheld.

    Pouncey now getting two games.

    Link?

Considering this has literally been played on a loop in this market for a week, knocking the impeachment off the front page and tops of newscasts, I'm guessing I might have heard that.

The postgame conversation went like this:

“Did Mason say something? Is that what started things?”

“They just gotta go look at it, and I’m not going to comment on it,” Garrett said.

    So, yeah, not quite "No."

I hope Garrett and Rudolph get to play each other again. I'm guessing they won't. Mostly because Rudolph blows.

Lying about Rudolph making a racial slur is almost as reprehensible as Rudolph actually making the slur.

I really don’t understand this Garrett thing at all.

I still can’t figure out why he did it. I pretty much think there’s a 50% chance Rudolph said something. That said, did Garrett really think he was going to tell the league that a slur was used and no one was going to find out? Let’s say the audio has something on it, the NFL has to do something to Rudolph.

If I’m the NFL, someone is getting fired over this. There is no way this should have leaked. This shitshow is on them for the lack of security involving their staff. This is also getting very close to being an HR violation.

I also could see them having damning audio on Rudolph but deciding to protect the shield.

What a mess of fail. Almost the size of a lake.

I also think if the QB of the Rooney Rule team and a black head coach was saying this shit, at worst, he is quietly benched and then released at the end of the season.

But then Tomlin’s post-game reaction really looked like a guy who knew his QB was dropping cracker lingo on the field.

Jesus, this whole thing makes no sense.

I'm not sure if I'm reading your post correctly. Are you saying Tomlin seemed as if he believed Rudolph said something racist? I'm not sure what you are basing that on, but I can see Tomlin avoiding a topic like that at least until he has more information.

I could certainly see the NFL holding back damning audio if they have it. That would make the league look bad. That's why I think Garrett or somebody from his camp was the source of the leak about the appeal. Garrett is the one who benefits from the accusation getting out there. His claims that he thought the contents of the meeting would remain private is an attempt to give himself cover for saying it.

If Garrett made it all up, he's a piece of shit.

If he didn't, he's still kind of a piece of shit for using his helmet. And Rudolph would be a MAJOR piece of shit.

There's no way any of us will ever know what was said and wasn't said with 100 percent certainty.

    For the degens...

After Week 10, in divisional games, the UNDER hits 60% of the time. Sample size about 300 games.

Colts-Texans went under by 10 points.

We have four games this weekend. Hit the under.

    playthrough and poindexter like this.

That is why Garrett is a major piece of shit if he made it all up. He behaved horribly and he would be trying to avoid responsibility by making a false and damaging accusation that could ruin the reputation of the man he assaulted. Is saying something racist worse than assaulting someone and making a damaging false accusation about the victim to try to save your own ass?
