Has there been an explanation of that cut by his eye?

It's his shtick. Go through the transcript. Try to create the impression of inconsistancy. Make the witness seem unsure of their answer.

Mike + The Mechanics lyrics in a politics thread? I have now come that much closer to seeing it all.

And those guys, Mr. Rutherford in particular, deserve much better than to be associated with these sorts.

I'd like to see one of those witnesses get asked a completely off topic and idiot question and respond:
"I don't know, Congressman Jordan; I guess it would sort be be like an authority figure covering up sexual assault."

It's led to firings 5 or 6 times in the last 15 years -- twice last year where the syllables get mixed up amid live TV. Good people, respected journalists, lost their jobs jumbling syllables in the middle of a 3-hour live newscast.

I've probably said MLK's name, oh, 1,000 times on live TV. No jumbling of syllables but EVERY time I approach it, I'm terrified.

So I'll just take the day off. :)

But they’re saying the same thing another poll said. Did they coordinate?

I don't think they called the same people before and after. But even if they did ...

    * Did the people they called before the inquiry watch every minute of testimony?
    * Did the people they called before the inquiry read about those who testified, and asked the questions?
    * Did the people they called before the inquiry spend time analyzing that which they watched and read?
    * Who did the pollsters call afterward? How many were different than the ones they called at first?

And those are just the initial reservations I have about these "polls".
