Content of the actual feed aside (because the proper use of Twitter is a much larger discussion), her avatar is literally a mirror selfie.

How is that unprofessional? It's not a pro headshot, but who cares?

 

Doesn't have to be a pro headshot, but that particular one seems better suited for a Tinder profile than a professional account. But maybe I'm just being old fashioned here.

 

That's exactly it. You can act like a child on Twitter, but, if you have tens of thousands of followers, you're gainfully employed. Just don't tweet anything stupid.

The Devils reporter for the Athletic has a shot of him posing in front of a bunch of cows (bulls?) in a street while wearing a backwards cap. Is that better suited for a Tinder profile than a professional account?

Certainly either one could have asked a friend to take a quick head shot, but your comment here seems to indicate you haven't looked at the young lady's picture.
