President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

It's the biggest non issue in a world of idiocy this guy has created.

The US is in love with its military. For the unwashed masses it's a dick swinging thing. For the people playing crony capitalism and lining their pockets while we run up massive amounts of debt funding it, it is what it is.

But NATO exists to keep Russia in check. Russia spends somewhere just short of 4 percent of its GDP on its military. It's GDP is about $1.5 trillion, which is not even in the top 10 countries in the world.

The combined military expenditures of the NATO alliance members -- at their current levels -- dwarf what Russia spends on military might. The US alone spends 9 to 10 times what Russia does on its military. France alone spends almost as much on its military as Russia does. The members of NATO combined spend about 17 times what Russia does. Not coincidentally, the NATO members in Eastern Europe, which are most spooked by Putin, all meet or come really close to that 2 percent number.

There is little to hold anyone accountable for. It's his typical bullshit in which real problems go unaddressed, while a non problem is conflated into a faux issue.
