He got choked up a few times. Talked about playing blue-collar football in a blue-collar state. Told a few jokes. Said his phone is blowing up with coaches wanting to follow him to the ‘Nam.

The Arkansas fans I know - which is damn near everybody I know IRL - were pumped. They think he’s a perfect fit.

Because he can crack jokes and speak with a particular drawl and yell, "Pig, Soooie!" Or is there something else?

    he’s a big-time recruiter too.

If Saban quits tomorrow - and Dabo stays at Clemson (which barring a scandal I think he would) - who gets the job? He doesn't seem to have an obvious heir apparent and doesn't have the ripest coaching tree. Cristobal? Saban's 68, I don't seem him being one of those guys who decides to be a CEO type and let his assistants do most of the coaching - when he can't do it anymore he'll bail. And he's at a point where I can see his age being used against him in recruiting.

I REALLY like Ricky Rahne as Old Dominion's next head football coach

I think Sarkisian has finally pulled his head out of his ass.
If he's not the head coach in Atlanta, I can definitely see Saint Nick promoting Sark up to the big chair.

Butch Jones would be a pretty good get for the kids in Fort Fun.

I think Cristobal is the primary choice, especially because I believe he's going to have a nice run at Oregon with the way he's recruiting and the way they are winning. Let's say Nick has four more years in him, I didn't see anything this season to think that he's getting tired or less engaged (if anything, I think he's more engaged), by then Cristobal will be 53 and I think he'll have another conference title or two under his belt. Alabama would be greatly interested.
