Elizabeth Warren needs to stop pretending she isn't filthy rich.

This is an informational question, not a snarky one. How much money do you define as "filthy rich"? Because by some standards, she is, and by others, she isn't. No Senator is poor, and precious few are middle class, but there are many grades of wealth. By hedge fund operator standards, Warren isn't rich at all. I chose that as an example only.

By any reasonable standard of wealth anywhere not named Dubai, she’s rich. You don’t escape that designation just because you’re not a robber baron.

    I don’t begrudge her a penny either.

Bottom line is what David French said. The goalposts are moving scarily post 9/11

Michael - I am as middle class as they come and so were my parents, and I don't consider a $12-million fortune anywhere in that zip code.
Warren was a registered Republican for most of her life, it's OK for her to admit she likes money.

I would agree that a person with $12 million in assets is rich. I'd also say they were way short of wealthy. The British word "comfortable" used to describe people who could live off asset-derived income is a good one for people in Warren's position.
