Climate activists don't really want to have a reasonable conversation about climate. They want to have a hysterical one that sets the goalposts way out here and forces acquiescence to something palatable to their cause. It's a good strategy and it may work, I dunno. But it is a strategy. And Greta is part of it.

 

Her message has resonated so someone handles the media requests. Do you have any idea how much the people working with her are paid, because you said they are getting a nice paycheck? But what you really are doing is trying to diminish her because that’s simple to do with anyone seen as a leader in any movement. If FNC were around in the 50s and 60s, Tucker and Ingraham would be talking about MLK’s affairs every night

 

When I see the Climate deniers embrace "Climate Change is a conspiracy foisted upon us by the Chinese to ruin the economy!" my first thought is, "Climate activists don't really want to have a reasonable conversation about climate."

The Senate Rs might be scoring points with the lack of seriousness they are treating the impeachment - but they're making a huge mistake. The ultimate "jury" in this case are voters and if it looks like the Senate isn't even going to pretend to take the charges seriously - they're going to take any of the credibility of an aquittal away.

 

They weren't and aren't crisis actors, for goodness sakes. But the protests - especially at the march - began to take on a performance art.

 

Ironic that the congratulatory tweet Trump responded to came from the wife of the man who put him back in the public eye. I wonder if Mister "I'm just a simple Aussie who loves Jesus and has no culpability" is having second thoughts.
