So when we "mock" people we are just having fun? When kids "mock" their handicapped classmate we should all laugh along because they are being playful? The following is a definition that I found perhaps it is a mistake...

Imitation may be the most sincere form of flattery, but to mock is to make fun of or mimic someone with contempt, ridicule or derision. ... The verb mock — as in the use that inspired the name of the mockingbird — can be simple imitation but, more often, to mock someone is to show disdain through mimicry or parody.

"Mock" implies a sense of humor, which Fatfuck does not have. He attacks.

This seems to be a perfect example of mocking a handicapped person. I guess I need to file this under..."just having fun". I feel like such an alarmist for being offended at the time. I am so glad that Boris has shown me the error of my ways.

Now, see, c'mon. Greta Thunderdome is taking a zero-emissions yacht to Portugal. That's how serious she is about all this. Now, her boat cap'n had to fly over to America to sail the boat - perhaps nullifying the emissions Thunderdome saved - but, if she's doing it the right way, why wouldn't she be worth emulating? Or is the yacht thing just a bunch of youthful moralism that we all wink and nod at without really choosing to embrace?

I'm fine with workable solutions. Is that was "HOW DARE YOU!" was about? Workable solutions? Or was it a bit of shaming theater for publicity?

It should not need explaining, but . . .

Mocking CAN be cruel. But that is pretty much limited to mocking something over which the "mockee" has no control over. That covers just about every schoolkid mocking the stutterer or kid with braces on his legs.

When you travel across the pond to say, "How dare you!" that Get Out Of Being Mocked card is used up.

Had she come over here from, say, Southern California and said "How Dare You let so many illegal immigrants into our country!" I feel quite comfortable in saying Bad Beer would have been first in line to spit suds in her face.

As has been illustrated by her response, Greta has a much better sense of humor than Bad Beer.
That's not something to be proud of.

10,000 to 10,000,000 people have said what this girl has said, in some version, over the past 10 years, world wide. The fact that a person like you is even responding, albeit negatively, to her and her message, is the reason she’s the messenger

It should not need explaining but when the most powerful person in the world mocks a 16 year old girl, especially when that Fatfuck has zero sense of humor, it is not in good fun. But of course you know this Boris.

You vote for the "Climate Change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese to wreck the economy" and "Climate Change is just a scam for scientists to get rich" crowd.

So pardon my skepticism when it comes to your commitment to "workable solutions."
