President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

This thread deserves a more serious read. Given that the cases re subpoena of Trump's financial records have reached the Supreme Court and the fact that CJ Roberts will preside over the impeachment trial in the Senate, the reaction of the Supremes has become crucial. Given the directness of the word "shall" and the unanimous findings of the lower courts, I dare to hope that the court will refuse to review the cases and will send them back, preferably quickly so that those documents can be examined before an impeachment trial. If they don't - well, that's not necessarily "the fix is in", but it's damn close.

The other question is whether Roberts takes his duty to the Constitution and precedent more seriously than his hardcore Republican ties.

Anyhow, interesting thread.

 

I wish I could disagree with this take, but the behavior of various friends, acquaintances, and relatives during the run-up to the last election tells me it's so very true.

Color me impressed when an organization that endorsed Trump now endorses impeachment.

All we have now is the Azrael Advocate or Deskgrunt Dispatch saying, "Yep, impeach!"

Given your history of racist posts and love of posting repugnant things, I am stunned that you don’t support President Trump. People like you do nothing but provide evidence for his supporters when they claim both sides are just as bad. It isn’t true, but you help them create the illusion. You have a hell of a lot more in any Trumpian than me or most of the people on this board.
