I kind of like holding off on sending the impeachment vote over to the Senate - A) things hopefully will cool down over the holidays, B) you can get a better read on the polling C) I have to think the Senate Rs are drooling to vote not guilty. Maybe Mitch will get off his butt and move on some bills that have been gathering dust.

What I meant was the fear of the technology might be based on a fear of infiltration or hacking or some such thing.

Remember, they ripped GHW Bush for not understanding how a scanner at the grocery store works.

Makes all claims they didn't have time to read the bill moot.

If that were the play, then why rush to impeach without fighting the court battle to enforce subpoenas against Mulvaney, Bolton, Duffey, etc.? Since the Ukraine issue blew up, there has always been the sense that Congress didn't want to be going through impeachment proceedings during the election, hence the decision to move forward with the narrowly-focused articles of impeachment rather than going all the way and getting the big dogs and relevant paperwork in front of the Intelligence Committee.

I don't think there's much of anything that could have gotten the Senate to vote to remove the President, but I would have preferred to see the Democrats get Mulvaney and Bolton "on the stand," as it were. If for no other reason than to emphasize that you don't get to choose not to obey a subpoena.

Conservatives seem to want something similar when it comes to social media platforms. After Alex Jones was kicked off Youtube and Facebook last year, there was a lot of bellyaching from conservatives that those private companies needed to be regulated and forced to give wackjobs like Jones a platform.

It’s not. Trump’s idiot supporters love it too. They have as much class as him - none.
