    My pet theory is:
going forward, people that can use the Force will be called "Skywalkers," and that's why the title of the movie is... Rise of the Skywalkers.

Because of my stupid schedule this week, I saw it this morning at 8 am. Quarter full cinema, about 50 people in central London.

Didn't love it. Didn't hate it, even at the unearthly hour. Not only were the special effects beautifully done, they were used to their best effect. But the pacing was off. They tried to cram three movie's worth of plot and action into one film. If they'd cut it down and stream-lined it, even with the same story, it would have been a lot better.

Wife and I will be in a city with a shit theater this weekend so we're breaking my rule about not seeing a Star Wars movie on the first day. Oddly it is four years to the day we saw Force Awakens guess it fits.

I'm not making any predictions because the writers seem to feed off the failed ideas of the nerds. But I will predict it will leave us with more questions and my buddy who purports to love Star Wars but has posted on Facebook how much he hates every new Star Wars thing will be posting this weekend how much he hated it.

I think the new episode of The Mandalorian is excellent. Lots of action. Darker. Brings it back to the main storyline after a few stand-alone episodes. Quite a cliffhanger going into the finale.

Going to see TROS before work tomorrow. Avoided spoilers. Some seem to love it. Some seem “meh.”

Just saw the movie and well...

    ...I'm still recovering.

Rey is a motha-fuckin' Palpatine! A little out of the blue, but still a good twist. It was good to see Palpatine in the final episode to bridge the three trilogies together. He wasn't in a lot of the movie, but had a good arch. Rey's anger and angst was well played as a Palpatine, similar to how Luke had to reconcile being Vader's kid and control his anger. And all of the Jedies who came to Rey was amazing. Windu, Old Obi Wan, Young Anakin and a few others I couldn't immediately identify.

Leia's death didn't hit with the emotion it should have. Not the movie's fault. It did it's best with her given Fisher unexpectedly died before Ep. VIII premiered.

Kylo had a good redemption. Probably better than Vader's. The final battle was brilliant. They finally paid off all those little moments when Rey and he could see each other through the force and could actually grab things from each other. When Rey brought the saber behind her back in what looked like a wind up to kill the Emperor, I did not see it coming that she was going to pass it off to Kylo. Figured it would happen, but more that he would come charging through.

Humor was spot on. Loved it.

Now for the bad. The movie felt a little rushed and condensed at times and some things came together a little too easily. At the final battle they don't know if anyone from the galaxy is coming to help them defeat the Final Order armada but they know people are rising up across the galaxy? The first half felt too much like a Monty Python sketch where they have so many problems but suddenly the animator dies and they all escape. I wish they did not have Kylo and Rey kiss at the end. They felt too much like brother and sister.

Overall, the final half of the movie was well worth it. It was a good close to the saga. I wish the other two installments were better and were more coherent to drop some clues about what was coming. Still digesting everything but it was worth it.

Also, can someone tell me who the lady was who asked Rey who she was and she answered a Skywalker? I'm guessing it might be Aunt Buru (the actor not the character) because I'm not sure who else it could be.

    One more thing

Why was Rey's saber yellow? Just her or is there more to it? Some nerd in the bathroom was speculating she would be a Grey Jedi (whatever da faq that means).

    Must....not .....click....spoiler....

Seriously, thank you for posting whatever you wrote that way. I am apparently too undisciplined to stay away from this thread even though I should.
