I've got a candidate for the most underreported story of the year. You will soon have to be 21 to buy cigarettes. I know smoking (thankfully) has declined in this country and I know the passage of his bill happened within a day of impeachment, but this still shocks me. McConnell is a Trumpist from an SECessionist tobacco-friendly state. This is the sort of thing I presumed he and his klan would oppose as they have opposed literally hundreds of bills passed by the House by refusing to consider them for a vote. Yet this one becomes law. It's good news. Would seem like a loss for Big Tobacco.

I’ve read that the number of tobacco farmers has fallen significantly, and that farmers are focusing on other crops. There might not be too big of a tobacco farming lobby left.
