Load Management has to be the "word/phrase" of the year in sports - yes?

I always get it confused with the PGA tournament in Phoenix.

Play the tourney where there’s no income tax and gambling is allowed. Make it a 2 week tourney and have the players put up their paychecks for those 2 weeks. Winner gets 75% 2nd place 25%. 2 weeks of NBA payroll ought to motivate even an NBA player to play hard for a few games in a row.

The bottom line (the max contract and the 9-figure paycheck) is the only thing that matters in the Association. The agents’ firms handle all of the taxes and the athletes hardly notice. Besides, with all the jock taxes in many states, it doesn’t really make that much of a difference anymore.

The biggest thing by far has been whether an organization has a chance to win. Guy have pretty routinely passed up max deals to put themselves in a better place. The max/supermax hasn't been anywhere near the draw the owners thought it would be.

Also, when they player (who is obviously the best one on the team) turns down the extension, it throws the team into disarray.
